Roger Denton has 25+ years of martial arts experience. He is an owner and instructor at www.ctmma.com and www.graciesportsusa.com, where he teaches Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts, and coaches/manages professional and amateur MMA fighters. Roger began his martial arts career with Tang Soo Do, a Korean form of Karate. He later began studying Jun Fan/Jeet Kune Do, which was developed by Bruce Lee and Dan Inosanto. He received Jun Fan/Jeet Kune Do/Filipino Martial Arts Certification from Paul Vunak (Progressive Fighting Systems) in 1994. He relocated to Arizona to further his martial arts practice, and received additional Jeet Kune Do Certification from Sharam Moosavi (Jeet Kune Do International). Roger began studying Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 1991 and was promoted to Black Belt in 2007. He was Fabio Araujo’s first BJJ Black Belt in the United States. In addition to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Jun Fan/Jeet Kune Do, Roger also studies and teaches Western boxing, Muay Thai (Thai kickboxing), Panantukan (Filipino boxing), Filipino Weapons and Stickfighting, and Savate (French kickboxing). Roger is now available for both group and private instruction at LA Boxing in Norwalk, CT. |
![]() | Chris Cosentino - Kickboxing Instructor Christopher Cosentino has been a certified fitness professional for almost ten years, and has been studying various martial arts for 15 years. His degree in athletic training, a division of sports medicine, provides him with the knowledge to care, prevent, and, rehabilitate all orthopedic injuries. Chris has had experience providing care for NCAA division 1-3 athletes. He has aided in rapid return to competition for non surgical and post surgical athletes. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology and exercise science provides him with the insight to create a more effective program design. Along with health and fitness, Chris’s passion for martial arts has allowed him to pursue the knowledge of various styles. His martial arts experience ranges from Judo to Tae Kwon Do to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and his main focus, American Kickboxing. Chris competes in American Kickboxing on the amateur level. His medical training and martial arts conditioning correlated during his in depth research on Tai Chi, an ancient martial art form. He was able to incorporate it’s style to train modern day athletes. This research was the stepping stone to the creation of Hybrid Fitness. A system such as this can best be defined as training evolved. Originally from Thailand, V arrived here in the United States in 1993. While in Thailand, V began practicing Muy Thai at the age of 7 and established himself as one of the best fighters in the country. After competing for over 12 years, and earning an impressive record of 155-25, V was recognized with the title of "Kru", the highest level earned in Muay Thai. With the rise in popularity of Mixed Martial Arts, V has come back from a twelve year hiatus from teaching Muy Thai in order to instruct fighters on the more traditional form of Muay Thai, a form that is much more rich in culture than displayed on television. V is excited to be teaching again and is looking forward to sharing his culture and experiences to all willing participants. |

Josh is a submission grappling instructor under Mr. Roy Harris. Although he enjoys competition, he would rather be on the mats teaching both the youth and adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fight teams. Josh has already coached his L.A.Boxing students to victory in competition, and finds that much more rewarding than his own accomplishments. Josh also prides himself on his cardio and is hoping to help get you into fighting shape , whether you want to compete or not. His classes provide a fun, safe atmosphere for you to learn to the best of your capabilities. So come try out a class or check him out for private lessons, you wont be disappointed!!! |

![]() | Matt Olko - Kickboxing/ Muay Thai Instructor In addition to graduating from Ithica college (where he was a collegiate swimmer) with a B.S. in exercise science, Matt is certified as a Muay Thai Basic instructor under Deth Ko Sin. Matt currently works as a strength and conditioning coach and as a kickboxing instructor. He is currently an active amature Muay Thai fighter with the goal of eventually fighting professional Mixed Martial Arts. |
![]() | Rajiv Bhattacharya - Boxing Instructor
Rajiv Bhattacharya is a professional light-welterweight boxer who originally hails from London, UK but has called Connecticut his home since 2005. A southpaw with concussive power in both hands, and a spell-binding defence, he is a rising star in the sport. Rajiv cut his teeth boxing as an amateur in the U.K, Europe and the U.S and earned numerous titles and accolades along the way. He is also a rarity within professional boxing being that he works full-time at an investment bank; his is a story that has generated some interest along the way and has resulted in a 6 page article in GQ magazine (UK edition, Sept 2002), Mens Health (India Edition, June 2009) and a documentary on Channel 4 (UK, 2003). As a professional Rajiv is trained by Nirmal Lorick (trainer to Luis Collazo, Travis Simms, Jaidon Codrington, Dmitry Salita) and, as such, gains huge experience from sharing the ring as a sparring partner to world champions and leading contenders and joining them during the rigours of training camp. He brings all that experience to LA Boxing Norwalk, albeit on a limited basis, as he also focuses on his professional career in tandem. Rajiv will be leading a boxing technique class on Sunday mornings, and is available for Personal Training by request. |

After serving 4 years in the U.S.Marine Corps, including a tour in Iraq, Scotty moved to Yuma Arizona, where he worked as a conditioning coach for the Yuma MMA fight team at the Arizona Athletic Club. He then earned his NESTA certification as a personal trainer and combined this with working as a kick boxing instructor for The Boxing Club in San Diego, California. He studied Muay Thai under the direction of Mel Menor and recently won a NY Fight Club 3 competition in Long Island. Scotty has recently introduced TRX suspension training to LA Boxing and invites you to experience a free demonstration. |
